Here are a number of shortcuts that can help you do things more quickly on your MacBook.


Universal Shortcuts

Printing: Command + P

Searching: Command + F

New: Command + N

Open: Command + O

Quit: Command + Q

Select All: Command + A

Window Cycle: Command + `

Home and End: fn + left arrow, or fn + right arrow


Program-Specific Shortcuts

macOS

Change Program: Command + Tab

Screenshot of Whole Screen: Command + Shift + 3

Screenshot of Selection/Window: Command + Shift + 4

Screenshot Menu: Command + Shift + 5

Spotlight: Command + Space

Lock Screen: Command + Control + Q

Fine Grain Volume Control: Option + Shift + F12 (volume up)


Finder

Preview: Space, or Command + Y

Open Applications: Command + Shift + A

Open Desktop: Command + Shift + D

Open Documents: Command + Shift + O

Smart Folder/Smart Search: Command + Option + Space


Chrome/Safari

New Tab: Command + T

Change Tab: Control + Tab
