How to Force Quit a Program

Modified on Mon, 13 Jul, 2020 at 2:18 PM

Sometimes, a program won't close even after you tell it to close. When this happens, you can "force quit" a program to make it immediately close. Here are two ways of doing this:

  1. Click on the Apple icon on the top-left, then select Force Quit. Choose the program you want to close, then click the Force Quit button.

  2. Press Command + Option + Escape. Choose the program you want to close, then click the Force Quit button.

Keep in mind that any unsaved data will be lost when a program is force quit.
