This is a guide on how to upgrade your computer to macOS Sonoma (macOS 14). Please make sure you back up any important files. This process should not wipe your computer, but it is worth having a back up just incase there are any issues with the installation. The upgrade should take about 1 hour, during which your computer will not be usable. Please plug your computer into the charger before updating.

  1. To upgrade to macOS Sonoma, open Self Service and find either the Featured tab or OS tab on the left. Click install on "macOS
  2. Depending on what model computer you have, it may ask you to enter your computer password. This is the password you use to log into your laptop when you open it.

  3. The software will then download macOS. This may take up to an hour depending on your internet speed.
  4. After the download is complete, it will ask you to confirm installation of macOS. If you want to cancel the installation press the key combo CMD + CTRL + C

  5. Your laptop will begin installing macOS Sonoma. Your computer may reboot several times and you may hear the fan running loudly. This is normal, give the computer about an hour to update and once it is done it should bring you to the login screen.

If you have any issues with the upgrade please email support@trinityes.org.
