Troubleshooting Loom Issues

Here are some things to try if Loom is not working properly.


  • Loom will not work if you are on the New Tab page in Google Chrome. Navigate to another webpage, then try using Loom from there.

  • Make sure that Google Chrome is fully updated by going to chrome://settings/help. If an update is available, do the update and then restart Chrome.

  • Open System Preferences (click on the Apple logo at the top left, then click System Preferences), then go to Security & Privacy. Click on the Privacy tab on the top, then scroll down to and select Screen Recording. Make sure that the box next to Google Chrome is checked. If it isn't, check the box.

  • Go to Google Chrome, click the 3 vertical dots icon on the top right, then choose Settings. Click on Privacy and Security, then choose Site Settings. Click on the Camera and Microphone sections, and make sure that Loom for Chrome is listed under the Allow section in both of these. If it isn't, click on Loom for Chrome and set the Camera and Microphone to Allow.

  • Try restarting your computer.
