Arranging Multiple Monitors on a MacBook

Modified on Fri, 21 Aug, 2020 at 10:24 AM

If you have an external monitor connected to your MacBook, you may want to rearrange the order of the screens. Here's how to do that:

  1. Open System Preferences. You can do this by clicking on the Apple icon on the top left, then choosing System Preferences. You can also click on the icon on the dock if it's there.
  2. Click on Displays.
  3. Click on the Arrangement tab. This tab will only display if you have an external monitor currently connected to your MacBook.
  4. Your displays will be shown as boxes. You can drag the displays around to arrange them the way you want. The main display (the one with the menu bar) can be changed by dragging the white bar at the top of one of the displays to the display you want to be the main one.
